I've been looking at my bookshelf and I noticed a pattern.

>Jane Austen
>Oscar Wilde
>The Bronte Sisters
>Bram Stoker
>William Shakespeare
>Laurence Sterne

And a number of other British writers. What I'm curious for are the American writers. Beyond just Twain, Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, and Hemingway. The older the better. Nearly everything Western Civilization produced after the first world war is shit.
