traveling to india and china and want to read some of his art books. anyone know what's up with coomaraswamy?

What's up as in is he good? Yes he is good, his writings often reference and contrast western mystics and thinkers and people from the western canon like Dante, Philo, Meister Eckhart, Hermes Trimegistus, Plotinus, Proclus, Pseudo-Dionysus etc to contrast with the eastern stuff he is talking about, it's quite enjoyable.

He agrees with Rene Guenon about perennialism and about non-dualism being a common factor uniting esoterism throughout religions. He has some really good books too about the intricacies of Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, if you are going to be visiting temples and stuff it may be worth checkout out some of those so you have an appreciation for some of the deeper teachings. His stuff on art and society is good too.

I have not read any of his books cover to cover but have read selections from certain books of his as well as a dozen or so essays.

If you are interested in an in-depth examination and contrast of Buddhist and Hindu metaphysics, his book 'Hinduism and Buddhism' is good and can be read by a novice, I think he has 1 or 2 other books about Buddhism too. His book 'Perception of the Vedas' is about the Vedas and how the ideas found in the Upanishads are found throughout the whole text, that work presumes a certain familiarity with eastern philosophy though, I wouldn't read that unless you have already read a lot of Hindu texts and thinkers. He has a good series of insightful essays on aspects of Indian/Hindu culture called 'The Dance of Siva'. 'Time and Eternity' is a dense metaphysical work comparing the common conclusions of Vedanta, Neoplatonism, Daoism, Sufism etc on the subjects forming the name of the book.

Daily reminder he was Cucked by Aleister Crowley

>Aleister Crowley had (sexual) affair with Coomaraswamy´s wife and short honey-moon.
>Coomaraswamy asked Crowley to help promote his wife Alice Ethel's performances in 1916. Crowley wrote reviews of her in Vanity Fair and offered letters of introduction for her. She and Crowley quickly became lovers and magical partners, engaging in sexual magic by April of 1916. Alice became pregnant.

Later Aleister Crowley described Coomaraswamy "Black Brother"

In his magical diaries, Crowley describes Coomaraswamy as "The Worm"
>Jan. 13 [1917 e.v. ].
>A leter from Dr. A.K. Coomaraswamy1 (the Worm) in re The Path. Replied to it.
>NOTE: 2 P.S. This correspondence ended in the discovery of the Worm as a Black Brother; it has been very useful to have the type to study.

Black Brother in system of Crowley describing initiate: having failed to cross the abyss (total annihiliation of personality etc.) ends up being controlled by forces of inferior kind, like Abramelin demons.

Honestly I'm surprised that Coomaraswamy didn't have the good sense to realize that it's not a good idea to have your wife go hang out with a larping satanist pedophile sodomite crackpot.

Coomaraswamy as far as I can tell never thought Crowley was legit, that seems to have been Crowley's way of referring to Coomaraswamy's disparagingly in own private diary

Evola liked Crowley, Guénon rejected Crowley, but both did not know him personally. Coomaraswamy could be considered Guénon's student, and he certainly knew Crowley personally, but showed no interest in Crowley apart from purely personal disputes.

Here is Evola's article on Crowley. http://www.gornahoor.net/library/EvolaOnCrowley.pdf

Guénon, displaying paranoia about most people during latter days of his life, was so deluded that he thought Aleister Crowley was a secret advisor to Adolf Hitler himself (Despite Crowley's associates like Karl Germer ended up in concentration camps for simply knowing "High Franking Freemason Aleister Crowley". Crowley himself was openly homosexual (or bisexual to be exact) and would have probably been exterminated in Nazi Germany.
>Actually, he went to Berlin to play the role of secret adviser to Hitler who was then at his beginning.

Then again, J. F. C. Fuller, who was Crowley's student briefly, did meet Hitler personally, but they mostly talked about tank warfare.

No, you may be thinking about an associate of his Frithjoth Schuon who is notorious because he started a unorthodox 'Sufi' order where he (while he was like a 75 year old man) would have naked dance rituals with the followers of his cult based on the Native American sun rituals and a menagerie of ideas drawn from various doctrines, he also took certain unmarried followers and even the wives of followers as spiritual disciples called "vertical wives" and there are uncorroborated allegations of sexual activity with the vertical wives, some of this is covered in Mark Sedgewicks books. There is a whole separate other allegation of a bunch of other traditionalists like Lings and Nasr being part of a Masonic-like cult active right now that involves alphabet agencies and of being involved with the Shah's SAVAK secret police, although the basis of all that is just one article that was posted then removed from Counerpunch, as far as I'm aware. Any brilliant intellect movement soon enough attracts the attention of egomaniacs, spooks and demonic forces cloaking themselves in human form, the Traditionalists were no exception. Guenon in his letters mentions how there was one persistent Jewish lawyer offering an exorbitant sum in Paris for someone who could produce an authentic photograph of Guenon, there are hints of him being targeted by dark force. Did you think the agents of the Kali Yuga would just leave them be?

All the wackos should be considered separate from the straight Traditionalists like Guenon, Coomaraswamy, Jean Borella, Pallis and several others. Schuon is highly suspect, Nasr and Lings possibly too. Evola is just a clown sometimes.

Kek. Just displays how full of paranoia he was in his latter days. Like it is apparent from his letters.

He sees sorcerers everywhere, even when Evola tells that he has been confined to a wheelchair because of bombing raid Evola suggests in a letter that some sorcerer's must have cursed Evola, which even Evola thinks is the most absurd thing to even suggest.

> It is rather odd, however, that René Guénon himself favored a similar interpretation at first. For when I got in touch with Guénon after the war, and informed him of my accident (in the secret hope that Guénon might help me to 'understand' the event), I was asked whether I suspected that someone might have acted against me by occult means. Guénon added that he himself had been confined to his bed for several months, apparently on account of arthritis, but actually as a consequence of an outside attack; and that he had recovered from his illness once the person responsible had been discovered and neutralized. I told Guénon that a similar attack would be an unlikely cause in my case, not least because an extraordinarily powerful spell would have been necessary to cause such damage: for the spell would have had to determine a whole series of objective events, including the occurrence of the bombing raid, and the time and place in which the bombs were dropped.

The truth is often stranger than fiction. All this transcendental non-dual god-head behind all religions stuff is true, but as part of that magic, ghosts, divine and supernatural beings are all real too. They are just the Godhead manifesting itself in various other ways.

So how would yo go about to conduct some "astral" attack against Guénon?

Piece of paper, with a picture of René is enough? Maybe some voodoo type of stuff?

The thing is, usually, to conduct such "black magick" operation you would also need something much more personal items of the man in question. Picture alone will not do the trick.

Now when you got a piece of hair from Guénon (maybe even some hair from his moustache) now we are starting to get somewhere.

But the problem is, Guénon lived in Egypt, and rarely took any visitors, lived extremely low profile in general.

How the fuck some bunch of Jews with a picture of Guénon could have succesfully orchestrated some occult magickal attacks against him?

I don't know, but the history of them getting kicked out of European countries for getting caught with the corpses of too many goyim children drained of blood suggests that they wouldn't shy away from trying. Before you say that's all just anti-semitism, the consistent record across hundreds of years is way too consistent in the specific details and in the 2000's a son of one of the head Rabbis of Rome published a study in book form documenting that many Medieval-era and earlier Jewish texts described the blood of Christian goyim children as having magical properties and being of high value in ritual.

>One of the world’s foremost scholars in that field is Ariel Toaff, professor of Jewish Renaissance and Medieval Studies at Bar-Ilan University near Tel Aviv, and himself the son of the Chief Rabbi of Rome. In 2007, he published the Italian edition of his academic study Blood Passovers, based on many years of diligent research, assisted by his graduate students and guided by the suggestions of his various academic colleagues, with the initial print run of 1,000 copies selling out on the first day. Given Toaff’s international eminence and such enormous interest, further international distribution, including an English edition by a prestigious American academic press would normally have followed. But the ADL and various other Jewish-activist groups regarded such a possibility with extreme disfavor, and although these activists lacked any scholarly credentials, they apparently applied sufficient pressure to cancel all additional publication. Although Prof. Toaff initially attempted to stand his ground in stubborn fashion, he soon took the same course as Galileo, and his apologies naturally became the basis of the always-unreliable Wikipedia entry on the topic.

>....drawing heavily upon the secondary literature in English, French, German, and Italian, as well as the original documentary sources in Latin, Medieval Latin, Hebrew, and Yiddish.

>It appears that a considerable number of Ashkenazi Jews traditionally regarded Christian blood as having powerful magical properties and considered it a very valuable component of certain important ritual observances at particular religious holidays. Obviously, obtaining such blood in large amounts was fraught with considerable risk, which greatly enhanced its monetary value, and the trade in the vials of this commodity seems to have been widely practiced. Toaff notes that since the detailed descriptions of the Jewish ritualistic murder practices are very similarly described in locations widely separated by geography, language, culture, and time period, they are almost certainly independent observations of the same rite. Furthermore, he notes that when accused Jews were caught and questioned, they often correctly described obscure religious rituals which could not possibly have been known to their Gentile interrogators, who often garbled minor details. Thus, these confessions were very unlikely to have been concocted by the authorities. Furthermore, as extensively discussed by Shahak, the world-view of traditional Judaism did involve a very widespread emphasis on magical rituals, spells, charms, and similar things, providing a context in which ritualistic murder and human sacrifice would hardly be totally unexpected.

You got carried away. Even if the Jews (of Eastern Europe) practiced/practice child sacrifice of christian children, what does this have to do with magickal attacks against Guénon or Evola?

Aleister Crowley actually believed that the Jews of eastern europe practice "blood libel":
>Human sacrifices are to-day still practised by the Jews of Eastern Europe, as is set forth at length by the late Sir Richard Burton in the MS. which the wealthy Jews of England have compassed heaven and earth to suppress, and evidenced by the ever-recurring Pogroms against which so senseless and outcry is made by those who live among those degenerate Jews who are at least not cannibals.
Is it to such people, indeed, that we are to look for the highest and subtlest spiritual knowledge?
-Preface to Crowley´s "Liber 777"

But the point is, even if bunch of Jews would have gotten together and murdered 10 children children and spilt the blood on the picture of Guénon, I have hard time believing these people would not have been sociopathic enough to actually travel to Egypt and shoot a bullet through his head. I mean what is the point? To cause Guénon some disturbed sleep?
