It was pretty confrontational, up-in-your-face kind of stuff, and sort of invokes some naive hope like a bunch of superheros banding up together to fight injustice and for progress

That's literally the exact opposite of what it's written like. I mean, I can tell you don't like communism (I don't either), but get a grip. It's honestly one of the best books if you want to contextualize that particular period in history, even if you disregard the political theory, which is sober and realistic for the time, even if you disagree with everything.

Civilization is a sexual contract that allows every man to reproduce in exchange for their participation* in society (building of institutions), therefore permiting weak genotypes to get passed on. It's a dead end.

This is basically what Rand is saying here; (*)Institutions are nothing more than a conglomerate of weak genotypes teaming up to guarantee their survival. These people need institutions for food and security, for their own survival.

Just because private property has been historically tangled with "civilization" or "progress" doesn't mean it is some sort of inherent metaphysical quality of it. You could have said the exact same thing about organized religion before somewhere around the Renaissance or the Enlightenment in Europe, and yet here we are, more civilized and secular than ever.

Retarded as all hell my man.

Out legal system used to maintain our social hierarchy. Life was actually better for all when women and the negro were managed by the white man. This is because the negro, evolving in a hot climate, is naturally lazy but also naturally suited for hard labor, especially after decades of selective breeding. Woman has been naturally bread foe generations to be submissive, superficial and petty. White men have allowed other races and women who welcome immigrants to slowly amd methotically subvert the west and everything it stands for. It wasnt until the last five years or so that men realized that fat blue haired lesbians had taken over our institutions and instilled in us a sense of fear similar to that of the inquisition that the alt-right took hold and men rose up. We are now living in the wake of that movement But marxism still has a hold on the west like a native american would a white man’a dick in a nineteenth century picture. Marx did more than anyone else to destroy the west and completely derailed the halthy influence neitzsche had had on our society. We will not have fully done away with the marxist disease until women and all non-whites take their place in the natural western hierarchy.

Sieg Heil!

Not a communist by any stretch, but this is certainly the case. Marx's theories of labour value and alienation are quite good, but the Communist manifesto is garbage.

yep. the problem is that the manifesto was written before Marx really fleshed out his analysis of capitalism, so what it prescribes is a series of half-baked, milquetoast regulative policies that later-Marx would dismiss as utopian. the problem is that it's often the only thing people getting into Marxism read.

>> No.12207624

>>12207613
You should read the critique of the philosophy of right and the e/p manuscripts. Marx's thought was plenty "fleshed out" by 1848 and these sorts of takes on the manifesto ("it's just some random pamphlet for retarded workers") are lacking in nuance.

>> No.12207642

>>12207624
never said it was totally useless. but its prescriptive elements are undeniably at odds with the analysis Marx would go on to outline in Capital. my point is that it has nowhere close to the relevance that many make it out to having.

the ten planks of the manifesto are forwarded in a context of proletarian government. it's not like asking bernie to "nationalize industries" while the wider stuff is the same

>>12207670
nearly all of the ten planks do imply that "the wider stuff is the same" (at least so long as such policies are in effect).
