>find ancient treasure map
>can't read the directions because they are written in cursive

What is America's excuse for not teaching cursive in common core?

>> No.12148949

We learned to write in cursive when I was in elementary school.
>common core
That's probably where it stopped. A lot of parents here are opposed to common core.

Are you autistic? Cursive is easy to read even if you’ve never been taught, almost all the letters are basically the same

Unless you send your child to one of the ~12 actual good public schools in this country you have no excuse not to send them to private school

What I like about cursive is how it amplifies the fact that everyone has their own handwriting style.

Teach your kids whatever you want dumbass. There's only 26 letters you don't really need to burden teachers with it. You gonna wait for public ed to teach them to read too?

I learned cursive in an American parochial school. My class was among the last to take courses in handwriting. I still write in cursive, but get called pretentious pretty often. I like how some traditionalist boomers talk about cursive like it's "a secret code that only adults can read :))))))))." It's funny.

Cursive is gay. We used it to write quickly as writing in print was too slow, but now we can type so it’s objectively obsolete

I’ll take my 95 WPM typing over cursive. Thanks, gramps.

>> No.12149585

As someone who learned cursive and writes it beautifully (or so I’m told) I think it’s only as useful as society perceives it. They told us in school it was supposed to be a faster, more efficient way to write since you don’t need to take the pen off the page until the word is done, but I find that untrue considering all the doubling back you do for swooping letters and what not. However I think it’s definitely an aesthetic way to write, and a formal way of writing the English language. every year i write Christmas cards and send them out with handwritten notes in cursive. also, what will signatures become? Block lettering? I mean it’s not hard to forge them already but they are definitely more personal.

Common Core was literally designed by left-wing people to simplify the school system so that niggers and spics would stop failing so hard. White people go to private schools these days, we all know cursive.

Sounds awful.

Here in Australia the government is making the education system more difficult to keep up with minorities.
