So, post here recs for left-wing literature, it doesn't need to be necessarily about literal communism. Left-wing ideals.
Can be about ethics, rights, etc.
Can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, anything.
>CHARTS ARE WELCOME

I know left-wing isn't a correct term but you get the idea

The theory of a young girl by tiqqun, a french collective of anarchists , who began writing in 1999 until 2001 and got published until 2007. For leftie lit its highly recommended because it touches especially the problem of gender equality and capitalism penetrating the social sphere and therefore degrading this social sphere to market standards. Its highly recommended because of its actuality compared to marx and adorno and not being a bunch of pseud shit like zizek.

Grab Marxism philosophy and economics by Thomas Sowell, it's like 200 pages and goes everything you need to know.
Capital is a book that's all I can really even say about it having read 2 volumes, it's a time and often infuriating to push through. Biggest problem with it though is how absolutely dated it is to the point where it's largely irrelevant to politics and economics.
If you really want to do some real Socialist reading and not turn out like a tankie or some Zizeck meme just read Rosa Luxemburg she's at least tolerable.

being able to read and write sets the educated apart from the peasantry and workers
even if they are taught it is impossible to bring everyone up to the same level of attainment, thus the only way to ensure true equality is to create a society where no one can read and there are no options to improve their skills beyond that of their comrades.

the most egalitarian existing societies, like the Bedouin or Saharan herders are full of sudden sharp peaks of violence that seemingly come out of no-where in the eyes of more docile farming peoples.
in order to maintain equality (without a separate unequal force of arms to keep everyone else down) every man needs to be hyper aware of his own "honour", that is his right to a share of things. Society becomes filled with a slew of rituals to preserve one another honour and if these traditions are broken you can very quickly see what was a peaceful environment just a moment before break out into severe bloodshed in order to make things equal again and see honour restored.
this sence of equal respect and honour goes down the the genetic level for certain people as well, in studies they've shows that people who come from herding backgrounds (Armenians, scotch-irish, Arabs) see HUGE spikes in testosterone and adrenaline when they perceive someone as disrespecting them; as in the case of the experiment where a man would shove them in a hall and call them an asshole.

meanwhile people from traditionally agricultural communities where hierarchy and caste systems are prevalent would just brush off such an offence and forget about it, since they have no worries about maintaining their equal status against rivals.

in farming communities dignity is more important, and it is inherently tied to the class system as class bestows dignity (and vice versa)

>> No.12098557

>>12098549
to add onto this, communism or even proper socialism are both impossible in farming communities.
Marx was overly nostalgic for the middle ages manorial system, yet he forgot about the strict class divides that made such a system of agricultural life possible.
on the other hand socialism in the form of a community of herders is not only possible but a natural extension of their form of life.

Are you fucking kidding me? Capitalist cultural engineering is ubiquitous. How can you be this oblivious? Oh yeah that's right: cultural capitalist social engineering.

Capitalism doesn't need to apply constant totalitarian power because capitalism can easily co-opt any self-sustaining productive process for its own ends

capitalism is a productive system that emerges from social relationships, not a cabal of masterminds socially engineering the population, not saying there's no social engineering under capitalism, but it's not essential to it and capitalism can co-opt any culture so it doesn't matter either way

this isn't even right-wing politics, this is just standard Marxism if you actually read Marxist theory instead of confusing propaganda with theory

To actually answer your question instead of what that other anon did, no. Volume 1 is not hard to read at all, and the biggest difficulty is probably how long some sentences are, where I had to read them over and over again.
That and make notes on definitions so that you don't forget what "organic capital" or "simple cooperation" means when it gets mentioned again after 200 pages.
I'm reading volume 2 right now though and oh boy, it's a different type of beast.

this becomes less and less true as profitability falls and businesses need to hire "marketers" whose job is to social engineer everything as much as possible to maximize profits.
for capitalism to continue past profitability reaching zero (which halts the "wheels of circulation" necessary for reinvestment) then ultimate social engineering is completely necessary and in fact mandatory, which is what people call Fascism.

marketers from different companies are not coordinated pushing in the same direction, so it's not totalitarian even though by capital's dynamics everything ends up moving in the same direction, but that's a systemic issue not a conspiracy issue

the fascism is capitalism meme is retarded and not worth even getting into it

where in my post did I make claims of conspiracy?
you have to remember that Nazism is just a form of Fascism, it can exist in many forms, but fundamentally it means promoting anti-egalitarianism through means of total population control. So yeah, of course marketers don't all agree the Jews should be gassed, but in essence they are all just facists competing for their form of fascism.

people being able to use marketing in capitalism doesn't make marketing part of the system like totalitarian social engineering is an essential part of every leftist project

>people being able to use marketing in capitalism doesn't make marketing part of the system
it's promoted by capitalism though, that's my whole point. I'm not saying Adam Smith made it a principle in law, it's just how it happens. you need to have marketing to promote investment in capitalism, especially as profitability falls.

who is "capitalism"? you have to differentiate between something being possible under a system to something being an intrinsic part of the system

you don't need a legion of marketers to kickstart capitalism like you need a secret police and political cadres to cleanse a society to kickstart communism

literally the economic principles promoted by Adam Smith. I hope you can agree with that for your sake.
>you don't need a legion of marketers to kickstart capitalism
I know that. I'm saying you need it to keep capitalism self-reproducing otherwise it collapses. why are you making me repeat myself?
>like you need a secret police and political cadres to cleanse a society to kickstart communism
you don't "need a secret police and political cadres" you need revolution and an established worker-controlled State.
