most of those are classics, nothing wrong with liking those.
1q84 is absolute plebeian trash, i definitely lose respect for those that say they liked it, i do not recommend it. its not deep, its not fun, its repetitive, and the story is not original.

I'm sick and tired of people talking shit about The Catcher in the Rye. It is the best depiction of a disillusioned young person, aside from Notes From the Underground and the film Rebel Without a Clause.

>> No.12033293

>>12033260
Notes isn’t an accurate depiction of normal young delluded people dumbass. The underground man contemplates and over-intellectualises all of his problems which causes him to revel in his misery. He hates himself because of his own very nature as a human being and his own helplessness in it. However, he also takes pleasure in his sordidness becuase he is compelled to do so but at the same time he hates himself for having found joy in it. Compared to a 15yo who’s biggest complaint is that his dad won’t let him juul in the house and his deepest thought is “woah man everything is like connected” they are complete opposites.
