In OP the glasses show a utopia, while removing glasses shows the horrifying real. now in the second meme, we see removing glasses shows utopia and glasses show the horryfying real. all you had to do was put the google glasses lady first in the macro, setting up the punchline as the horrifying real. people don't know whether to format it for comedy or to stick to the backwards format.

There is a setup and a punchline for image macros, particularly the 4 cornered approach like this one. The bottom squares, particularly bottom right, are supposed to be the punchline. Since you put the reveal at the top, you actually skip the setup (which should be google glasses girl looking at an illusion), which makes it look like the top panels are a set up for the reveal of google glasses, rather than a reveal of the setup for the joke. This has nothing to do with Zizek's analysis, it has to do with your misunderstanding of basic comedy. You botched the meme, it's still okay, and you did some good work with it, but people don't get what you were going for with it because you screwed up setup/punchline. It's not a big deal man, I'm sure you'll nail it next time.
