Well, my point wasn't that the tech is for the sake of the aesthetic. All I'm saying is that those people that some might see as "propagating" capitalism are irrelevant. They are the tools of capital, and most of them aren't even consciously aware of what they're doing. And capitalism has already collapsed many times when you look at it historically. But as it happened it was also dominant worldwide so nobody was ready to let go of it so they kickstarted it instead. I'm not super well-versed with accelerationism or Land, but I'm pretty sure when they talk about capitalism coming to an end, the're not referring to a 2008esque crisis/collapse.

This is a really rough outline of pre-breakdown land (95% of FN). Post-breakdown Land is still pretty much on board with all this and has even done much to make it clearer. He latched on to Moldbug because Moldbug advocated the idea of state-privatization, framing states a a competitive service. From Land is obviously interested in this because it liberates states from the idiosyncratic sentimentalities of blood and soil identity and instead plunges them into marketization (intelligence production) where only the most competitive models will prevail. He has described patchwork (moldbugs meta-system) as an auto-suicide machine for fascism.

Finally Land is concerned that by dumping third worlders in to actually functioning countries will decelerate the process because Africans and Latinos score lower on IQ tests and IQ is a precious resource and worries that the whole world could become a Brazilian ghetto before AI god is birthed. This is the primary split between U/Acc and R/Acc. R/Acc agrees with Land on this point and U/Acc thinks we are beyond the tipping point where humans can stop AI god becoming real so what happens to the various nations of earth is irrelevant. L/Acc is not real.

The movie is They Live, and It's actually backwards, what you see with the glasses on is supposed to be *real life* while what you see with the glasses off is *the illusion they want you to see*.
