What's your story about?

I was thinking of adding a conversation at a coffeehouse between my two main characters, but I don't know how to write it so it doesn't sound either boring and generic or excessively juvenile and sentimental.

I'm supposed to be applying for jobs instead because I'm out of money but my book isn't finished yet. It's unbearable. So I'm wasting my time here and getting nothing done at all.

This one is just finishing the epic fantasy trilogy I started in high school (yes, I am that meme self published Western isekai author, just without the self insert gadgetry). After this I want to work on a more traditional fantasy novel. Before that, I want to write a prose-dense novel but I haven't read enough literature to write good, lengthy prose. I'm thinking about buying a book or two and reading those.

I’m writing the next great piece of literary historical fiction, AMA

>> No.11850218

I fished a novel I wrote 3 years ago and I'm rewriting it.
It's been slow, but I should've the character's arc down for now and the first act is basically written.
The third mainly and I'm just trying to solve the second act so that everything set up pays off

It's about this guy and this who live on a little town on the hills and have trouble adjusting to the world and would much rather be removed from society. But both have loved ones and a mundane routines in their ways

Brave New World meets The Rocketeer, meets golden age of science fiction.

I thought of catching up with my a set of short stories about Horace. A man who just wanders around creating chaos and confusion around him and always getting something from there.
It startes when entered a whorehouse thinking it was a restaurant. He felt very welcome there by tye prostitutes like "oh look how sweet are the waitresses that aits down with me asking what i want and chatting with me".
But then arguing with the pimp and i was good creating more and more tension.

But its hard finding an unsuspected ending to such little stories, also im not a writer so i dont have high hopes for it. But there are funny and unsettling moments that i find too good to let it off.
