Arguments against solipsism ?

>> No.11829727

The argument from insignificance. If I'm the actual pivot around the universe swings, why aren't I being treated like a god-emperor by the world and having my ass kissed at every opportunity? Why do I live in this little green and blue and white pellet in a vast cosmic expanse? Why is everything so diminutive and out of proportion to my godlike importance?

It all falls apart into absurdity the more you push it.

>solipsism
Stirner was a Hegelian, and to answer your question, I believe intersubjectivity invalidates solipsism.
I don't think you can make sense of yourself if the other doesn't exist, in fact the very language your formulate to express your thoughts is interpersonal and depends on others for it to have any meaning.

anon, if you were born in a forest and left alone, assuming you somehow "survived", you wouldn't even have any coherent thoughts, let alone know what solipsism means.
You need the other to recognize yourself as a thinking subject, "solipsism" is tea pot argument tier unfalsifiability, and is embarrassingly not even as strong as the latter.

>> No.11830097

To advocate sollipsism you need to be able to think.
To be able to think you need to be able to exist.
To be able to exist you need to be manufactured.
To be manufactured you need to be made by an outside world.
Therefor thinking about sollipsism is a perfomative contradiction.

We percieve a world.
To be able to experience the world you need to be able to percieve.
To be able to percieve you need to be able to percieve something.
Alas, something exist beyond the self as else it would just be introspection.

There actually isn't one. As Wittgenstein rightly points out, what the solipsist means is quite correct. My personal horizon is preeminent, as it is mine and not yours, and therefore it is alone. It has no "neighbors".

You're a fool. The greatest argument against solipsism is that the world behaves as though it has an independent reality from my representation of it.

If the world is to be likened to my dream, it should have more malleable than it is strictly speaking. It should display the features of a dream, the irregularity, the mushiness, the lack of governing laws.

The laws of the universe are not the laws of my mind, because the laws of my mind are not sufficient to describe phenomena outside the psychological sphere.

The world does not conform to the conditions I place upon it but follows its own extrinsic logic.

How often do you notice these inconsistencies in your dream? A psychitzophrenic man also feels his delusions are perfectly consistent
