Fashy goy here. I would be interested in a communist book club, but I've already read the manifesto. It's very short. "Le Capital" would probably be a better pick, although perhaps a shorter work to start off with in case the group falls apart would be preferable, in which case the manifesto makes sense even if most would be revisiting it.

Marxism is an abominable neo-Cathar sect of the Hegelian tradition.

Marx saw that capitalism is a wasteful, irrational system, a system which controls us when we should be controlling it. That insight is still valid; but we can now see that the construction of a free and 'equal' society is a more difficult task than Marx realized. Free will is a myth. We need not discuss a politics of liberation, rather one of amelioration, anticipation or intervention. These are our only options entering a post-industrial society with an autonomous market.

What type of communist? there's so many branches, and the one's i've talked to have splintering views that aren't even close to it's origin. The Doctrine of Fascism is even shorter than The Communist Manifesto if you wanted to start with that to try out whatever kind of format you all would like, get people together, etc, basically as a test run. I've never been in a book club though, so I won't be leading this.

I can see a schism arising between civic nationalist fascists (Mosleyite, integralism) and racial nationalist fascists (Hitlerian, Rockwellian) over whether we should be reading racially oriented literature, and over whether or not to include fascism-adjacent thought such as Traditionalism and the New Right, so trying to sort that out from the beginning - whether the focus will be narrowly fascist and what that means, or whether it will be more broadly "revolutionary rightist" or whatever better label would fit.

All though reactionaries and fascist often are allies they are definitely different. Fascism seeks to instill a new creed on the world, it takes from reactionaries what it sees as missing from the world and combines it with modernism. It completely changes the values and way of life, it wishes to create a of Ubermensch, devoted to national glory through values of violence, action and masculinity. It completely rejects religion and fully embraces the myth of the state. It also wishes nothing of the economics of old or present and is progressive in its attitude. It is extremely revolutionary.
