There's so much to learn about storytelling, it seems like you'd have to be a super-genius to get it right.

Is this true?? I'm intimidated.

Yeah, it's true. The best novelists could have excelled (and very often did) in just about any intellectual domain.

You don't have to understand anything. It's all on the receiving end.

If you write something and it clicks for some randomers, congratulations, you're a respected authour.

p-zombies and children.
Unironically read John Green if you want to figure out how to easily sell fiction to this exact demographic.

No matter how much or little he will, youll make it even less for being a mouthbreathing pseudointellectual, probably in tears wondering why your flowery "look mom im writing" dogshit is getting rejected even though its supposedly so much more intellectual than all of the other shit that sells

Newsflash for you and all of the other retarded mouthbreathers out there who think that "literature" is excused from having an interesting plot and characters- it doesn, youre a retarded, pseudointellectual amateur, the entire field is laughing at you and every single book that ever mattered was drenched in both plot and character. Nobody gives a fuck about your epic philosophical ramblings if youre too much of a brainlet to even tell a proper story with it

Prose is a meme used by subpar writers to obfuscate weak plot and patch up shoddy storytelling.

>> No.11780938

Prose isn't a meme, but pseuds who think it's everything and that story doesn't matter certainly are.

Unironically this. "Intellectuals" who watch Rick and Morty but can't tell a proper story will never fucking make it.

Storytelling is a craft like any other. You have to master the craft and all its little nuances.

The funny thing is literally nobody will ever remember someone who writes stuff like this. I don't mean like Moby Dick, where the creator gets recognized only after his death - that was just an unfortunate case. I mean literally 99% of people on the planet will not give a flying fuck about your work within a decade, even if you become popular. Just look at all the shitty movies that NPCs/zombies/whatever go to watch and will never watch again, because it's just a ephemeral thrill. Maybe the absolute extremes like Harry Potter will be remembered for a few decades, but their fame still wanes even if it takes time.

The normie is a thrill-seeker. All time and energy is poured into seeking momentary pleasure. That is why I will say, time and time again, that humanity genuinely does weed out the best of the best - it just takes time. Autism exists for a reason.

false

most of it you do naturally, and the rest you just need to train

take a year or so to just write short stories (2-3 per week), then compare the first and last thing you wrote and look for signs of improvement. you'll find them.

now be a pal and hit me with the sauce on that pic

It's not that hard
If you can't be some pinnacle of literature then try writing simple children stories and work you way up
