The majority of the classics are right wing by today's standards, and there's nothing to suggest that this isn't the default mode of thought.

So things that are typically deemed unethical or "cruel" can generally be viewed simply as a process, or a necessary evil when viewed from rightwing's perspective

With an objective and self critical mindset it becomes easier for individuals of a society to minimize personal biases away from their thoughts and prioritize on what's "truly good". This constant self reflection and reason may allow them to make unpopular decisions that eventually turns out to be the best one on a larger picture
