I know of only one strategy that's been somewhat useful to me: write a sentence or a plot point that does not make immediate sense. Then, immediately afterwards refrain from explaining the question you raised. After a while, answer the question, make new ones, and change the pace, in your writing, at which you make and answer a question. Under this strategy, at one point, perhaps, you will find a pattern that is to your liking.

However, I will say that I am not a great writer myself. Still, from all the bad stuff I've written, the most readable came from applying this rule in some sense.

All seriousness. If you can articulate a visual representation, you'll be much better equipped at verbally articulating a complex idea or tone.

Check out the Youtuber Lessons From the Screenplay. He makes very informative video essays. That alone won't teach you how to write, but he references a lot of books which are very useful resources.

Write and read everyday.
You’ll suck at first.
Then you’ll get a little better the next time
Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat.
Years will pass.
You’ll suck less.
Keep reading, keep writing.
Rack your brain for original ideas, twists on popular themes.
Repeat,
Suck less.
Look up and ten years have passed.
You are now considerably better than those who chose not to do the work.
What happens after that is up to you.
But be warned. If you choose to be enveloped by this passion, your social life and love life may suffer as you. You’ll neglect family, friends, and lovers to hone and perfect your craft alone. It’s not for everyone but it’s definately worth it.

Practical creative advice that you won't listen to because you're lying to yourself.
Also, Save the Cat: Strikes Back and On Writing Well by Zisser are the best books I've read on writing.
