Do people seriously not understand the importance of context anymore or is everyone just baiting? Also, assuming they don't care about context, at what point is this level of narcissism considered neurosis?

In what context are you asking this, oh wise frog person?

Any. I'm not talking about sophist arguments where people use context as an out. I've just noticed the vast majority of disputes that take place are due to one person subscribing to context and the other not. Even in situations where moral relativism has nothing to do with it.

A simplified example

>I broke my arm because I jumped off a cliff because I was being chased by a wolf and there was a branch I could hold onto not far below the edge.
>Why would you jump off a cliff? only idiots jump off cliffs!

It's a bit reductive but I see this line of ignorance almost every day.

Im with you on that. I think its because of information overload. Most people these days are so hyper aware of whats going on in the world, they have to simplify and compartmentalize everything just so they can keep track of it all, and wind up ignoring or forgetting the key pieces that give everything else meaning.

How do you reconcile with Death of the Author? Does context justify hiedegger’s shitty anti-Semite positions?
