Not everyone lives the comfy life. Reading one classic a year still puts you ahead of all the morkmorks and shlippies that will read nothing but social media posts and maybe 20% of an inspirational book through an entire year

Took me 3 months or so to finish the great gatsby because i stopped after the 100 first pages when it bored me

I read a minimum of 100 pages a day, but it's usually from different books. I average a book a week.

Just don't say the words "out loud" in your head as you read and you'll go much faster.

Recently got into literature if you forget about manga/light novels. Read Animal Farm in under 6hours over the course of 2-3 days.

Why are you on this board?

>> No.11409124

What the fucking hell are you people doing on this board if you don't actually read? I read 2 books a week whenever I'm on vacations and 1 per month whenever I'm working.

I like the discussions in this board and I think that this board is one the funniest on the site. I also do plan on getting into reading and hopefully improving my pace however I have been planning on doing that for a long time now so I doubt that's really what keeps me on this board.

>Just don't say the words "out loud" in your head as you read and you'll go much faster.

So how do you read if you don't think the words?

>> No.11409223

there's a difference between the 'saying out loud' in your head, and just running your eyes over the words, absorbing the meaning. You gotta try it out to see what I mean. There's guides for this kind of thing. 'dynamic reading' or smtn

>> No.11409250

>>11409223
I'll check out "dynamic reading". It's hard to judge if I'm doing it while i'm thinking about doing it.
