The way Homer writes is hilarious. He's so certain of his own greatness and it shows in every sentence.

Please listen.

If you do work morning till night you will progress along your optimum path.

This casting around for a snake oil salesman is you avoiding the hard work that will actually reward your efforts over a long enough timescale

Clean your room, get an income, get a meal plan, get physical exercise, pick something you would like that you would enjoy, something like 'write something' or 'make a painting' or 'buy a car' something YOU want, and then plan on getting it, and then act out the plan, actually DO what needs to be done.

It depends on your goals. You may feel bad living with your parents, but the upside of that is that you're able to save 100 percent of the money from even a very low end job, something people living out of home could only dream of.

Beyond that it's nice to have a longer term goal. Personally I've heard that if you can write for a couple of hours in the evening you're probably getting as much work done daily as many professional novelists, who often get lazy and still hit deadlines.

The important thing in combating depression is for YOU to feel valid and justified and legitimate in what you're doing, while also paying your own way in terms of daily expenses. Your parents probably don't mind you being at home as long as you're not costing them money.

If that doesn't work nothing works.

Nothing works every single time its tried. That doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Getting off your ass is generally better for your mental health than being on it, as long as other circumstances remain the same.
