Give me some good escapist literature; I want to be happy for a little while. Already read most of Shakespeare's comedies.

Alexandre Dumas' Monte Cristo / D'artagnan romances. To me theyve been the most happy, warm and engaging novels that take me away from the cold dark brooding of real life

On a similar note: my in-laws just discovered I've been dumping my pissbottles out of their window. Are there any books to cope with this feel?

Poster of referred to comment here.

The loss of some frinedships, discovering how more and more of my family members on my fathers side are pathetic, friendless and get disrespected by most people, seeing how almost all people will deliberately embrace being twofaced and become destructive to themselves and others, feeling stuck at my job and in my town, thinking that my hobbies are wastes of time, depressed about death, feeling disillousioned about love that fucking fades after nine or so months when its the purest, happiest and most beautiful thing that can happen to you, plus all the usual anxieties that are a result of the human condition.

Friends and literature and sports is where its at, i've found out and irrevocably decided.

This conception of love is atrophied. If we gave up on everything because of diminished returns we'd be extinct. What hobbies do you have that you think are a waste of time? Maybe your idea of what makes a hobby worthwhile is also wrong.

Yeah for sure a lot of it is self doubt. The things i'm interested in / hobbies are Literature, mechanics, people and art. I do have flourishes of euphoric happiness when i sort of muse on the things im interested in or just life in general, but the darker thoughts tend to rise up and insist ln themselves and idk if its better to ignore / let them stay or try to philosophoze my way out. I am not completely hopeless about love and relationships and i think that the best A+ long lasting relationships do have power struggle and it often can make peoole do retarded destructive shit that they'll ultimately regret.

I do think Kierkgaard was right that no matter what you do you wil regret it. In the end i don't know anything, i don't think anyone does and that's hella comforting.

Also the feeling about my hobbies being wastes of time is just a nocturnal feeling that has no basis other than some abstract negative idea that comes and goes
