>Hegel’s philosophy aims to structure an argument that basically says: as things progress and shift they inherently proceed towards the absolute - aka God
>Schopenhauer actually lays out a principle of sufficient reason and successfully counter-argues brain dead metaphysicians
Enjoy defending these absurd positions, anon. I’d rather see Hegel’s arguments for what they truly are instead of glorifying him due to his awful writing style lol

Most important texts by era (limited to modern philosophy).

-17th century: Leibniz’ entire body of work (this guy deserves a ton of credit in computer science. In my view his thinking is slightly more innovative than that of Descartes and Newton)
-18th century: The Critique Of Pure Reason by Kant
-19th century: Beyond Good and Evil by Nietzsche
-20th century: Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Wittgenstein

Nobody, philosophy is dead, we live in a post post modern society where as post modernism was crushed and killed by the coming age of information, and silly philosophical dreams and beliefs are irrelevant in comparison to the common accepted facts and reality of our world, you can argue that reality is relative and made of perspective, but when you can find out information in the matter of seconds that can correct your ignorance theres no need for any superstitious or delusional beliefs of how the world might work with a bunch of spiritual nonsense.
These people all believed in outdated understands of how the mind and body worked, some of them even believed spirits were literally things in the body somewhere, and your mind was more than just another organ but some heavenly ethereal thing placed by a deity or the universe itself.

Hegel is absolute rubbish, come on.
Schopenhauer’s work completely destroys Hegel. Hegel was another one of these guys that had decent ideas but belongs mostly with all of the other somewhat forgotten metaphysicians. No contemporary figure in philosophy would support any of his fantastical metaphysical claims.
Read Kierkegaard’s critique of Hegel and then go on and cite his writings as the best in philosophy’s history.
