Nah, it's basically just midwit marxism for the Right. Similar to the ancap crypto-marxism that blames the state for everything, there are certain wings connected to the state which corrupt its influence.
It's basically just the Spectacle and neoreactionaries figure if this were centralised by the state things would be all good.

That's not really what the Cathedral idea is, there are actually two separate ideas that Moldbug doesn't bring together very coherently. One is Leftism as religion, which seems to me fairly well founded and actually obvious. The promises of utopic equality, the original sin of racism, etc. The other is Leftism as a process of civilizational decay, of Leftists being disorder and chaos obscuring normal hierarchies and creating vast bureaucracies with no accountability.

These two ideas are clearly not the same thing(in the political idea hierarchies are maintained but obscured and diluted) and the relation between them is rather tenuous. Which causes which? Are they in some causal tangle, what is the overlap between group A and B. I guess what he does is say that the entire thing is a kind of virus, and both its religious and machiavellian qualities are adaptive attributes, they exist 'just because' or whatever.

Moldbug never sits down and just brings everything together, his essays are always sprawling tangents on a few related ideas, he doesn't organize anything.

>> No.11300915

>>11300874
The connection is pretty clear. Leftism is a religion and it does what religions do, adapts and grows, it's just that the Universalist religion has terrible consequences for society. It doesn't respect other institutions as necessities for society, it either subordinates them for its own power or destroys them. Moldbug often uses a cancer analogy, with Universalism combining the runaway growth of an unrestricted bureaucracy with the apocalyptic urgency of the decapitated Christianity that unleashes it.

>> No.11300931

>>11300915
Yeah but the kind of Leftist who truly believes in equality is not the same as one like Alinsky. Truly believing in equality necessarily handicaps you since it is such a ludicrous idea.

That's the entire point of the structural excuses and the Lewontin fallacy, they're buttresses against the fact of inequality that actually strengthen their resolve, they turn into evidence that their utopian world can and should be achieved, and with that load lifted some extremely smart people can function quite well believing in it.

Quite so, quite so, my fellow non-religious human rights thinker. When will they open themselves to the light of progress and join with us to create an equal world full of hate? It's like they want to be on the wrong side of history!

>> No.11301023

>>11301001
They behave very much like religious people. Stuff like antiracism is held as a religious tenet, you aren't supposed to even consider it as a question. The promise of equality is very obviously the idea of heaven transposed into this world. It is an impossible and ludicrous idea, completely incoherent, that people fervently cling to. They gather in groups and chant phrases over and over, they excommunicate anyone who argues against them, they think of HItler type figures as the incarnation of evil, Satan.

It is really very clear. The links between Christianity, Judaism, and Leftism are also easy to see

>> No.11301048

>>11301001
Modern jewish liberalism is a secular version of jewish Christianity, why do you think the tube-mediated transition after centuries of entrenched Christianity in the west was so smooth for the boomers? Because it had all the same principles. It very much is a new religion and was instituted by the same people who instituted the previous one.
