I did my undergrad studies at Princeton, fortunately, and my grad studies at Oxford. All those years I'll never get back. What a waste.

Lads, I want to do my PhD in Oxbridge next year but I am poor as shit.

Is there a guide somewhere about getting debt in UK for Eurofags, as well as other relevant material? How do I even get started about getting enough finances for elite universities?

Some unis are considered better than others. Lund and Uppsala are the two top ones. For engineering you have some schools which are considered better than other.

If you're actually serious about doing a PhD you should know this already. You get funded by research councils. AHRC for arts, ESRC for social science, and there's a STEM one that I don't know the name of

Eh, some universities are known to be better than others, but the gap really isn't that big as compared to the US or UK. Going to Lund or Uppsala, which are the two highest ranking universities in Sweden, is not considered prestigious and it doesn't give people any major professional advantages except maybe when it comes to STEM graduate programs.

You don't. You let your supervisor worry about finance.

PhDs are advertised much like jobs. I scoured NewScientist for mine, and got lucky with a relevant research area (purinergic signalling).
