Re-reading The Odyssey. Feels fitting for Easter Sunday. Odysseus just met his mother and had a talk with her.

Even thought it's a kid's novel it still terrifies me about how Mr Arrow just fucked off and vanished from the ship. Probably fell overboard drunk. I've been meaning to watch the Dezaki anime since finishing since I've heard it's great. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Silver's character. Figured he would come off as cheesy after seeing too many bad pop culture representations of him.

Just finished Han Kang's Human Acts. Disturbing and great, glad her and her translator aren't just a one-hit wonder.

I still don't really know what peeps are, though. Some kind of bird-shaped sweet?

Nice. How are you finding Infinite Jest? I'll probably read it again this summer since it's been like two year since I last read it but I remember being weirded out with how disjointed the narration seemed to be taking place in different time periods but hopefully I should have a better grasp of it this time round

>> No.10931032

Infinite Jest and Hamlet. Thought those would go hand in hand in some way.

Just finished Absolom, Absolom! last night. Currently on The Dreamers by Isak Dinesen. Nice to see Team Peep on top where we ought to be.

He's such a good writer. When reading him couldn't help but wonder why this isn't more generally recognized. Some of his essays and memoir stuff are truly great. Two recs I picked up here were simply wonderful- An Inland Voyage and Travels on a Donkey. FWIW.

I'm reading Elfriede Jelinek's Wonderful, Wonderful Times. Really great book, one of my favorites. I read it years ago and wanted to reread it. She doesn't get enough love around here.

>> No.10931259

Just started Moby Dick.

>> No.10931309

Just finished A Confederacy of dunces. Why does it get so much praise? I found it rather dull and over 400 pages nothing really happened. It wasn't even that funny.

Reading Catcher in the Rye for the second time, and about to start The Thiry-Nine Steps for class

>> No.10933738

War and Peace, 200 pages in. I've chuckled a little, and felt depressed after reading through some passages. I like it so far.

>>10931259
Thoroughly enjoyed Moby-Dick, plus the ending is a tear-jerker for those caught off-guard.

Flog yourself and read through the technical chapters as well, Peepbro. You might find something meaningful in that old Melville talk of his.
