here's my attempt at doing my own version of Ready Player One

We do what we can with our limited resources. Sometimes shit threads get through and "good" threads get deleted. We just have to let it be.
It is clearly stated in our agreement that we aren't allowed to foster too much intelligent conversation on /lit/ and should, for the most part, promote the creation of /lit/ related memes.

Most mods just don't seem active on /lit/ at all, hence why shit threads stay up. But really the board is so slow that it doesn't need excessive moderation. As with most criticism of this type on 4chan, your problem is with the userbase as a whole that can't be solved rather than moderation issues.
