>finish the metamorphosis and the trial, both were great and captivating
>read the castle
Holy shit, this book was so fucking dull. I barely got 100 pages in before giving up on it. How can it be so bad compared to his other works?

>and then K. got his two assistants but they basically only got in his way
>and then K. had an affair with Frieda
>and then K. took up a post as school groundskeeper
>and then K. went looking for Klamm but didn't find him...
It's dull, no other word to describe it

Amerika is his masterpiece. The Castle is amazing, but a failure

Keep going. The Castle only improves. Especially when he meets with the administrator who explains there are no mistakes.

Side note: In my edition there’s some interview with Max Brod in which he says that because of the premise, The Castle could’ve been Infinite. I think he just got tired of writing. But truly, it only improves as you go on.

How did you find the Trial not dull? I think I get what Kafka was trying to convey but after a while it just felt like the book was dragging on. Then some interesting cryptic shit happens towards the end and that's it.
