It's rare, you know, that an artist's self designated "magnum opus" is viewed as such by their appreciators. Hitchcock thought "Shadow of a Doubt" was his best film (it is), but most people think it's "Vertigo."

Thinking in this way is stifling, anyway; it doesn't help you create.
