>Ernst Junger - On Marble Cliffs
>Marcel Proust - In Search of Lost Time
>Roberto Bolano - Savage Detectives

These are books that I didn't only like because they were beautiful, but because they somehow touched me on a personal level. Junger because it made me thought I could write differently. Proust because it made me think about how mind, memory, imagination and the perception of beauty work - and how they are the only important things. Bolano to develop a general feeling of detachment from the vicissitudes of life, and for making me think that my very possibly nomadic life won't necessarily be an ugly one - though it may be unhappy

there’s a prologue where Dostoyesvky explains this book is to put in perspective Alyosha’s background for he is a great man and wants everyone to see what a great man he is, then he says Alyosha’s story is set on the present (1880~) and Brothers K is a story that happened 20~ years before that and it’s a necessary introduction to Alyosha’s story

Something like this:

The Box Man (Kôbô Abe)
Là-Bas (Joris-Karl Huysmans)
No Longer Human (Osamu Dazai)

These at least stuck with me most and changed my taste the most.

Poems that most changed me:
Metamorphoses (Ovid)
The Divine Comedy (Dante Alighieri)
Bodhicaryavatara (Śāntideva) [I shill it on this board so much that you've probably seen me mention it before, but I don't know how much of an effect it would have on anyone else]

Does Flower for Algernon count? I think it was the one novel I have read in just the right age to fully let it sink in without the natural criticism experience brings. Other things I believe I have read too early or too old.

Also, it *is* meme tier, but I guess I have also been touched by the many RPGs I played at a young age (I still play but, back then I was really impressionable, which is the point here).
