Which book should I read to equip myself with the strength to face the postmodern nightmare of America current year? I'm now a sophomore in college and I feel totally alienated and confused. It's like I woke up in the foreign country one day and I'm only just now realizing that I don't speak the language.

Isn't he a fascist of some sort? My problem really stems from this pervasive belief that people of different experiences or different identities can never fundamentally understand each other. I have so many friends who I am not like in many ways, but that doesn't mean that we're unable to relate to each other's experience and connect on some level. A lot of my friends, however, have started buying into this buying into this belief and the idea that personal experiences are the most valuable thing and that there are no collective experiences seem to guide every discussion in my classes, all of my readings, as well as my daily relationships. I don't want guidance that forces me to separate myself even more from other people.
