I unironically like him. Sure he wasn't original. Sure he butchered the fuck out of eastern ideas, but who gives a fuck? His voice is just aesthetically pleasing and he knows how to spin an entertaining and interesting yarn with an acceptable logical consistency.

I enjoy reading him. There is an ease of style about his work that is pleasant.

I don't understand how you couldn't like cool zen uncle. He just wants to tell you about all the cool stuff that he learned and has been thinking about.
Unironically helped get me through some bad times

Yo, since you mentioned him, I want to gift my dad one of his books (pls no bully, he likes this sort of stuff), what would be a good first one?

Could you give me an example of his book, in which I can find something that I would'nt hear in some of his youtube lectures?

>> No.10519457

Badly understood Eastern thought thrown into a blender to create some kind of incoherent retard philosophy he then peddled to white people who think chink spirituality is cool and stuff.
He was also an alcoholic.

Ive been reading autumn, and I would recommend it to everyone. He's the first writer that has really made me interested in the whole "beauty in everyday things" idea. Plus its so fucking easy to read, the way he writes really draws you in.
