It's pretty boiler-plate genre fiction. No real formal experimentation, and the characters are the zany bunch you'd find in any movie/tv show. Look out for oblique references to Frank Sinatra. There's a reason he was Easter egg'd in the movie

It's classic and extremely worth reading. Great example of postmodern-type structuring and playfulness, plus the fact that Nabokov is one of the best prose writers of all time.
It seems deceptively easy on the surface, but beware, it will suck you in like a hall of mirrors, mirrors that, examined too closely, fracture again and again into contradictory permutations of meaning and depths of untold possibilities.
