She comes off as a clown to people here, but she's actually an incredibly adaptable and empathetic (not as far as empathy describes support, but understanding and internalizing others' emotions) person. Harry Potter sold consistently well not just because of the world, but because that world, and Harry, aged with the readers. Now that it's gone she's still tapping bloodline of youth culture for continued exposure by saying exactly what they want to hear. I fully doubt she believes in or cares about American, or hell even British, politics at all, but the children who were with Harry are now the children who were with Hillary and if Rowling says she is too they'll keep throwing money at her.
