Perhaps you just need much more practice. I'm really introverted too and shy, but once I worked as a tour guide in a small museum for 4-5 months. I had to speak in front of groups of 20-30 people 2-4 times a day (one tour lasts 30min) and answer their questions etc. It helped me overcome my massive nervousness and terror of public speaking in a few days. I was still often a bit nervous for the first minutes at least when I received a new group, but it had become pretty easy and even fun if the group was nice. During the time I worked there I was also more talkative and sociable in general, I would start conversations with people in social gatherings without even thinking about it. However, after I quit the job, in about two weeks I regressed back to my natural autistic state.
