I went full retard yesterday when I saw /fitlit/ - forgot it was April 1st. Thank God you're back /lit/. Bless all you wonderful pseuds! ITT: Tell us why you love /lit/.

>My Reason: I've learned about a lot of books from you all, which have, in turn, led me to many other works which I may have never found otherwise. No joke, I've introduced my Literature majored friends to many wonderful works they've never heard of thanks to you guys.

you can't be serious. That's a perfect description of /fit/. /fit/ is fucking garbage, and as much as I love lifting, it's a fucking garbage board. Firstly, half of the board at any time is porn, just general THICCC HIGH TEST or random threads with porn for an OP because half the users are recent migrant from /b/.

Secondly, my god they are so fucking pathetic and insecure. At any time there are probably 5 threads about "height, face, frame" (that means don't bother trying in the world, because all success is genetically determined) and how you're not gonna "make it" (that means getting laid). They're filled to the brim with ressentiment for anyone socially successful, so much so that they've invented a mythology for them. His name is Chad.

It's also flooded with morons who think the board is about getting laid, so they post random "how to do I get the sex, /fit/?" threads all the god damn time.

The board is utter gutter trash that is so steeped in these bizarre and dissonant views on human relationship, behavior, success, women, anything. If the board was actually about lifting, it would be fine. But it's not.

have you ever been on /lit/? this whole board is pseuds and assholes. that's what it's for. people reading and criticizing. /lit/ is such a dry well that it can't be drawn from, so we rehash the same shit and angrily demean anyone who hasn't retained all that has come before. fitness is a limited endeavor, but has energy because there is a discernible gain in the effort they place in their work. a man can write and train his writing and still push out trash. and will. forever. you can't lie about abs, or a bicep. it's fucking there or it isn't.

Ignoring the off-chance I'm mediating a 1-person argument, I think you both have valid points which supports my original injection. Ya, lit can be a real dry well and some people never improve their writing and it's a slow board. Yep, fit has a lot of bizarre threads about women and gainz and being "alpha" that I understand why lit wouldn't want to see.

This is all pathetic, but, why the fuck is he posting that shit on a FITNESS board. This is why /fit/ sucks, the board is for unsocialized young men who turn to weights to try and compensate for their neuroticism, and self-induced asperger level social skills.

It's about a mentally disabled guy who gets a surgery which triples his IQ to about 190 points. It was tested first on a mouse named Algernon. After some time the mouse reverts back to its original intelligence level and dies. The main character tries to stop the same from happening to him, but eventually he as well becomes retarded again. The book describes the emotional stress caused by this process.

those are memes that have nothing but the stink of /fit/ on them. there is no true cross-reference here, but rather simply a chopjob of /fit/ memes. if you had tied in just SOME semblance of literary culture, i would have let you have it, but no, not even a fucking quixote lanklet meme or sisyphus gains meme among you. there was nothing that happened here except the equivalent of a guy entering a library and talking about fucking tits and how many reps he did in a loud and oblivious manner, while the other residents put their noses back into their books.
