I watched about 7 minutes of this review and I just didn't get her. I'm a STEM nerd. I read mostly scifi and fantasy, with some Russian and classical lit on the side. I'm not elite /lit/ and I've got to say that IJ isn't YA but it's not really that much more difficult than Dune if you know how to follow the context of the stories. Once you recognize which of the storylines the chapter is focusing on, it's just not difficult at all.

Don't forget about cardio since it's important as well. Used to lift every day, but then became a hermit and purchased a treadmill, so only doing cardio now.
