7052410 No.7052410 [Reply] [Original]

>If I were to say that the so-called philosophy of this fellow Hegel is a colossal piece of mystification which will yet provide posterity with an inexhaustible theme for laughter at our times, that it is a pseudo-philosophy paralyzing all mental powers, stifling all real thinking, and, by the most outrageous misuse of language, putting in its place the hollowest, most senseless, thoughtless, and, as is confirmed by its success, most stupefying verbiage, I should be quite right.

>Further, if I were to say that this summus philosophus [...] scribbled nonsense quite unlike any mortal before him, so that whoever could read his most eulogized work, the so-called Phenomenology of the Mind, without feeling as if he were in a madhouse, would qualify as an inmate for Bedlam, I should be no less right.[108]

>At first Fichte and Schelling shine as the heroes of this epoch; to be followed by the man who is quite unworthy even of them, and greatly their inferior in point of talent --- I mean the stupid and clumsy charlatan Hegel.[109]

So besides name calling, did Arty actually bring anything to the table against Hegel?

But really, Schopenhauer's criticism of Hegel is pretty lazy, and while Hegel's pretty hard, I can't think of anything in his work that can't be parsed. He can be eminently disagreed with, but he's not incoherent. I might say Kant's harder, and Schopenhauer sure didn't hate the shit out of him.

Communists are called semi-religious for the believing in the community of man so much, and then there's that whole Soviet cult of personality with their early leadership. Throw a monkey wrench like egoism into that and you're bound to see sparks fly. I think some of the reasons Marxism fails (aside form outside capitalistic resistance) is their people, their proletariat, not standing up for themselves. The Russian people were too used to imperialist serfdom to change too much, like most peoples really. These dueling ideals need to find that more perfect balance between the communard and the egoist. A "union of egoists" may have just struck Marx as impossible from his point in time and place.

Lay person of course.

People who have sex for pleasure should be fucking shot. This isn't even trolling, they have proven to be a menace to the structures that uphold all good values and ideals, where there is shady business in congress or laughably justified wars in the other side of the world, a culture of hedonism is the one sustaining it.

The pacification of mankind through the suppression of sexuality is where true peace lies.

I know you're just trolling, but people like you should be locked up. Not pot smokers.

Seriously though. The socialist left and the conservative reactionary, devoutly religious and firmly atheist need to join common cause and end capitalism and heal the earth before we're all dead.

Has the Pope made anti-environmentalism a sin yet?

>> No.7052866

>>7052858
I am not trolling. All of this world's problems are caused by people indulging in their sexual nature. Having sex actively diminishes your humanity. More than a single partner in life (e.g serial monogamy) also devalues mankind as a whole on the collective level. People who fuck for pleasure, I mean those that have sex without the intention of reproduction can never be called moral.

Wrong, sex is inherently evil, and it dehumanizes humans every time they indulge in it.
It can't be corrupted, namely because it is corruption in principal.
It is necessary for reproduction, and if reproduction were the charge of an priestly arm that took care over reproduction as its main affairs... its evils would be diminished greatly where selecting for those that would bring the most intelligent, most healthy and compassionate would take priority above everything else.

Reproduction isn't good, for reproduction perpetuates the species and elongates suffering, but it is also unavoidable, so our purpose should be to make reproduction less of a hassle to all humankind as much as possible, where we would ensure that men should be birthed with the best traits available to make it that their journey is not an incredibly harsh one.

>"It is therefore just as little necessary for the saint to be a philosopher as for the philosopher to be a saint; just as it is not necessary for a perfectly beautiful person to be a great sculptor, or for a great sculptor to be himself a beautiful person. In general, it is a strange demand on a moralist that he should commend no other virtue than that which he himself possesses. To repeat abstractly, universally, and distinctly in concepts the whole inner nature of the world, and thus to deposit it as a reflected image in permanent concepts always ready for the faculty of reason, this and nothing else is philosophy."[113]

It's not strange that Schopenhauer doesn't offer a systematic criticism of Hegelian ideas. His whole accusation is that there are no ideas. For Schopenhauer, Hegel is the pinnacle of obscurantism and pseudo-intellectualism not because his verbosity obscures bad ideas, but because it obscures the fact that there are no ideas at all.
