I don't really know much of this guys work but I remember kinda acting like this highschool. I was always trying to be "ironic" and how nobody understood my brand of "humor." It seems this kind of behaviour just guards you from being accountable for your feelings and personal thoughts. Looks like its just taken to the extreme here, all it does is isolate you from genuine relationships and makes you look weak really. Just because Facebook and social networking is pretty superficial doesn't mean the people are completely. It just seems like another brand of "look at me I'm above all of this" without offering anything of particular value or insight. Just seems pretentious.
