I work at Barnes and Nobel and got this book early.

Harper Lee's 'Go Set A Watchman' is the most disappointing thing since my son. While my son eventually hanged himself in the bathroom of the gas station, the unfortunate reality is that this book is literally 'Phantom Menace'-tier bad and that it'll be around. Forever. It will never go away. It can never be undone.

if my old man worked at Barnes and Noble, I'd probably hang myself as well tbh

>> No.6808295

The crazy thing is, Jem hangs himself in the original book. I see your reference. Very clever

Well, I can't think of any reason to doubt you, even if you did spell your employer's name wrong.

This isn't reddit. I doubt anyone on this board gives a shit about the sequel to some below-average work written by a hack.

Of course, here we only care about original below-average works by talentless hacks.

I'm vitriolic because a mediocre book was awarded a Pulitzer Prize, inclusion into national curricula, and decades of warrantless fawning simply because it had the "bravery" to say that racism is bad at a point in American history when most would have been in agreement.

It is simply destructive to the arts that these little hymns of liberalism are pushed and praised not because of the quality of their aesthetic or the mastery of their writing, but because they appeal to the left-leaning sensibilities of panel judges and the like.

Agree in general, as do most
on /lit/, dont think it applies here though. I mean TKAMB was a big deal when it came out and is now taught in middle schools, but today she isn't considered a great writer by anyone other than the public. What 12 year olds read in class has never been a critical metric
