IJ, The Stranger, Brothers K, Moby Dick, Gravity's Rainbow, Ulysses, Crime and Punishment, I'm presently reading 2666, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Catcher in the Rye, not 1984 lmao, The Great Gatsby, Hamlet, Notes from Underground, Siddharta, and V.

a lot of these books are just archaic like, I guess important to read if you want to sound like a smart asshole at parties or trying to impress someone but. why the fuck are books that are considered canon so inaccessible? sure you can appreciate them intellectually but i am seriously suspicious of any anyone who claims a deep personal engagement with like, half of these

Hey, why not? Let's redo it. How did they go about it last time? Let's start a petition of best books, or something, but with joke answers (DFW, Hemmingbird) not accepted this time. We'll probs need to make a new thread, though, and I don't want to spend all my day on 4chan deciphering your autism. Anyone else want to do it?

If at all possible, search amazon or ebay for Penguins early 87'-92's publication.

I can post some pics of it just so you can know what you're searching for.

A book a week is nothing even with job/girlfriend/friends, and you'd finish the lit 100 in 2 years. A couple exceptions for, like, Proust and the Bible and stuff, but 2-2.5 years is about right.

Anyone who reads must have read at least 30 or 40 of those just by chance, unless all you read is Terry Goodkind or something
