I agree, it was nice when /fit/ was health/fitness people would occasionally bring up topics on how to improve things like sleep cycles, good books to read for mental health and a variety of other improvment projects. But when it turned over to just /fit/ that's when things started going down hill with the shit posting and memes. The total number of both /fit/'s and /lit/'s threads should be cut in half to upkeep the quality of discussion and minimize shitposting. Guess what will happen if the boards merge? That's right, the quantity of each board's topic threads will be cut down, and thus the quality will increase.

The problem is that /lit/ is a slower board than /fit/, but some sort of a balance would most likely be reached.

I've enjoyed the merge so far but keeping it this way would get too messy, /fit/ is much faster and /lit/ threads would probably end up being just a small part of the board. I'd much rather have two specialized boards than one general. And there's nothing stopping you from creating a /fit/ thread on /lit/ or vice versa once in a while.
