I would like to make this a serious thread if possible so here it goes...

Is there some book out there about being a normal, functioning adult in general sense. I don't mean books about OCD or anxiety, just some book that talks about the ultimate result of therapy.

Delete and repost this thread with a more aesthetically pleasing image and I might answer you, but as things currently stand, I cannot in good conscience reward you for posting something so disgusting on a blue board.

Thanks guys, very constructive.

"normalcy" is an incredibly loaded and eternally shifting term and any book that instructed you in it would be a work of political propaganda. like, you want to just "function?" to what aim do you want to function?

Yeah most of this is in virtue, ethics, and morality. A great view of this would be Marcus Aurelius Meditations and Cicero as well as some Roman Catholic works relating to how to live a "catholic" (which means universal) life. I think the honest answer boils down to inner integrity, prayer, and community.

The secret is that there is no secret. All the basic assumptions you make about how people should function are essentially correct but you lack the self discipline to align your behaviors with what you know is right.

I honestly wonder - how old are you and how many books have you read? I'm 26 and about 550 but just curious because these just seem so naive.

26 as well and nobody fucking cares how many books you've read you autist. The reason you can't figure out how to function like a human is because you're too busy huffing your own farts.

naive, as opposed to sincerely asking people "how do i just be normal?" like just give me the link to the objectively correct "how do i live" wikihow, but in a non-naive way?

This but unironically, Aristotle's ethics and Stoicism are great foundational lessons on how to live.
But also everyone clowning on OP for being retarded and trying to read himself normal is right.

Respectfully, OP implicitly said he is in therapy and in despair - these posts do not help and your wisdom was not necessary. Find a book or remain silent.

right, when a person in mental distress (ie anyone) asks for something that doesn't exist it's very problematic and toxic and ableist to refuse. one should simply hand the nonexistent thing over. it's not like the delusional belief in the fake thing could be in itself contributing to the distress, right? you fucking retard
