Aging is a natural part of life, and we should respect and honor those who have reached that stage of life, regardless of their medical conditions or circumstances. Life isn't solely about accomplishments. Although achieving goals is important, there is so much more to life than that. I think we need to appreciate the different stages of life, and the experiences and relationships that come with each stage. Aging can bring a great deal of wisdom and insight that we can all learn from. It’s also harmful to support authors like Mishima that advocated for regimes that suppressed individual freedoms and stifled diversity, leading to a homogenized and oppressive societies. That’s why Japan’s population is declining the way it is.

What is this clichéd chat gpt tier argument you've just spewed.

The "different experiences" are feelings of cognitive decline and decreasing neuroplasticity. It's getting stuck in your ways and becoming more risk averse and less open to new things. You gain the "new experience" of fading looks.

The "changing relationships" you refer to are losing friends to the demands of a girlfriend, eventual wife, then children. That's something which can started as early as your 20s. Furthermore, evidence shows that people become more lonely and lose more relationships the older they get. This accelerates all the way until your in your 80s when (if you were lucky) your family stops visiting you and the only company is your soon to be expired spouse. Didn't get that? Well be content with absolutely nobody giving a shit about you.

>le stifled diversity and population decline blah blah

As if the reason rich countries not having babies is for any reason other than wealth and the contraceptive pill

Yo, listen up, it's time to rap
About Mishima and his fascist crap
He spoke of honor and beauty, but it was all a front
His ideology was hate, and that's no stunt

He praised the emperor and the samurai code
But his real agenda was to suppress and corrode
Fascism is a cancer that destroys the soul
Leaves only oppression and hate as its goal

But we won't stand for this, we'll rise and fight
For a future that's free, equal, and bright
We'll build a world that's inclusive and diverse
Where hate and division have no place or curse

So let's stand up, and show some pride
Against fascism, we'll take it in stride
Mishima, your words are no longer valid
We'll bring a new era, where love and peace are the ballot.

Yo, what's this I'm hearing, you spitting out hate
Talking trash about Mishima, man, that's not straight
You say fascism's a cancer, but you don't even know
What it means to be loyal, to stand up and show

Mishima spoke the truth, he knew what was right
Honor, duty, sacrifice, that's the samurai's might
You call it hate, but it's love for your land
Protecting your people, taking a stand

You want a world that's diverse and free
But what you mean is just a bunch of lunacy
Where anyone can do anything they please
But what happens when someone wants to seize

Your property, your family, your way of life
You'll cry for help, but there'll be no one to strife
That's why we need strong leaders, who know what to do
Protect our borders, our culture, and our people too

So stop with the hate, and start to see
What fascism can offer, what it means to be free
The choice is yours, the path to take
Mishima was right, and that's no fake.

Listen up, I'm Kant, and I'm here to explain
Why both the fascist and the liberal are both insane
Fascism denies freedom and equality, that's clear
But liberalism, too, is misguided, that much is sincere

For the fascist, the problem is their rejection of reason
Their embrace of hate, of oppression, of treason
For the liberal, the problem is their blindness to truth
Their worship of freedom, their neglect of the youth

You see, freedom without reason is just chaos and strife
Equality without justice is just an empty life
We need a society that's based on both freedom and law
Where reason and justice are the guiding star

Fascism and liberalism both fall short of this goal
One denies reason, the other neglects the soul
We need a third way, a way that's based on truth
Where freedom and justice are in perfect tune

So let's reject both the fascist and the liberal way
Let's build a society that's just and free, come what may
Let's embrace reason, justice, and equality too
And build a world that's good, that's just, that's true.

ONE ARRIVES AT SENECTUDE DEMENTED & INCONTINENT ONLY IF ONE ABUSED ONE'S BODY, AND NEGLECTED ONE'S HEALTH, DURING YOUTH, AND MATURITY.

There is, at least, an obsession with youth in all his stories. Spring Snow and Runaway Horses make constant references to the youthful looks (Kiyoaki) and vigor (Isao) within the protagonists, often being their most important character traits beyond their nihilistic tendencies.

The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea encompasses this more than his other stories. Ryuji, the sailor, is a middle-aged man who wants nothing more than to settle down and live quite peaceful life, something the young and energetic Noburu despises, feeling it a betrayal, that a sailor would give up the freedom of the waves to rot away with a quiet family life.

Then you have others like Star, which is a short story (if even that), about a Japanese Yakuza film actor and his fear of growing old. He has an obsession with his own youthful good looks and is in a relationship with a much older mediocre-looking woman as it helps inflate his enormous ego about his own beauty even further. In the book he contemplates suicide so that he can remembered like James Dean (a Hollywood actor who died at the height of his popularity and is remembered forever as a young handsome 24 year old), as he views it as better than growing old and losing his beauty.

Mishima was obsessed with aesthetics but also strength, two things that wither away with age, he was as such obsessed with the idea of a young death, and so are many of his protagonists for a myriad of reasons, all valid. It is better for a man to die young, and thus strong, handsome and full of energy, than to slowly decay into old age.
