Last book I finished was Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal. Protagonist is basically a better looking George anyway. Probably would’ve ended up fucking the yak though.

>he gets expelled from the architecture school not for being too daring, but for being an idiot who can't even copy traditional designs
>gets evicted by Keating's mom after he's caught masturbating in the bathroom
>decides to risk it all, moves to New York, and shows his drawings to Cameron, who throws a stapler at him and dismisses him instantly
>falls down the stairs and dies

George Costanza as Socrates defending greed in Hipparchus

Costanza would make a great Socrates actually. Maybe he wouldn't have the stones for the trial/ suicide dialogues but the aporia ones at least.

Uh, he's the one who got his wife killed, doesn't grieve, doesn't go fishing, becomes vice-president of IBM through some weird hijinks and never meets the cosmic horrors.

It's funny because defending greed is well within his character and also he is very quizzical and always prodding people like Socrates was.

>the dream quest of unknown kadath
George would not get very far.

>> No.21640494

The last book I read was American gods. If George was Shadow it would have been much shorter. He either would have got the shit kicked out of him so hard he’s quit, or he’d be so annoying in his constant questioning of what’s going on Oden would have fired him.
>w-what do you mean I have to drink the mead? I hate mead! Mead gives me gas, it’s all honey based. What do I look like, someone who drinks mead?
>my nana told me gods were real, but she had dementia and thought her husband was an alien, but she’d forget every time and he wore these tourist shirts from New Mexico and so she just got riled up every morning. It was awful.
>there is no way you are tying me to a tree, Jerry. no way! I’m allergic to trees. Me and trees don’t get along. I don’t even own a dog because they pee on trees and I don’t want to get that close. No trees for me. I don’t even like breathing oxygen. Not doin it. No way.
>I’m not robbing a bank, Jerry. That’s illegal!

>Beauty? Heh, those hoity toity paintings at the met? Those aren't beauty! Now a pair of sweats and some sneakers now that's beauty?
>You really think a pair of sweats and sneakers are beautiful George? I may have some disagreement with your assertion.
>No Jerry not the sweats and sneakers. The wearing of the sweats and sneakers now THAT is what is beautiful. The experience!

Twilight of the Idols. George Costanza is now the guy who said
>Not to perpetrate cowardice against one’s own acts! Not to leave them in the lurch afterward! The bite of conscience is indecent.
This completely changes George's life.

Costanza as Socrates would actually be fantastic because both scarcely believe anything they say. They're walking contradictions constantly embroiling themselves in thought experiments. They're hypocrites, and yet they're noble for it.

I last read Henry Miller. George as Henry would never have left New York and written any of his books. Instead he would hang around an older version of Seinfeld then maybe get drafted and die alone.

>*Door buzzer*

not sure how he'd fare as ishmael. it's funnier to imagine him as ahab; maybe he'd end up becoming good friends with the whale
