Some people read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

No one who has read all of War and Peace thinks of it as an adventure story, simple or otherwise, especially considering the second epilogue is a lengthy exposition on the central theme of the work which is brought up by the author over and over throughout
