How is a priori knowledge possible? I think Kant is retarded and it comes from the metaphysical conditions that are necessary for the existence of a mind.

Kant died a virgin and avoided masturbation his entire life.

Many people believe this made him some sort of awkward loser, the kind you might imagine meeting today, you know, wearing a outdated hat or posting on this very site. However, it is in fact entirely the opposite; that is, him being an awkward loser: for while he was a virgin -and avoided masturbation- he was actually quite funny and confident and even made others slightly uncomfortable with his joking mannerisms around sex.

For example: the story of how Kant demanded to be tucked in tight at night is often heard of as his way of staving off the urge to masturbate. What is not told is just how awkward Kant would make this for his servants.

Being virtually perpetually horny, and actually monstrously hung, Kant would get into get into his jammies and get under the covers and call on of his servants.
"Oh Jaaaaamers" Kant might say (assuming the servants name is James in this case)
"a-ah yes Mr. Kant"
"Call me Emmanuel! I've told you a hundred times"
Kant could tell his servants to call him Kant one time, then Emmanuel the next, and he did this for well over 2 decades that some of them worked for him and he laughed every time.

"a-ah yes sir, Emmanuel"
"oh and tuck me in, i don't want to visit the circus if it comes to town!"
"y-yes sir"
"you know what i mean by circus right?"
"yes sir"
Kant would joke about the "circus" coming to town; and this was in reference to a powerful erection that he would get under the covers, which could lift the fabric and "pitch a tent" as its said.

"y-yes sir, Emmanuel sir" the servant would say, his eyes already dropping to the floor because he knew what came next
"oh-oh noo tuck me in! The circus is coming! QUICK!"
James would be made to tuck Kant into bed while a massive erection formed (supposedly 10inches plus) And Kand would stare at James the entire time and breath really heavy muttering inaudible sometimes punctuated by "circus" with a big pleasant smile on his face.
The tuck in duties were supposedly rotated weekly by Kant's staff, but all of them have given similar accounts.

>"A priori versus a posteriori knowledge. A priori concepts are a product of evolution (except if you believe that concepts exist before the brain is evolved that can produce them, in which case you could prove your theory by teaching differential calculus to rhinos, crabs or lizards). Therefore they are a posteriori. The whole debacle arose because earlier philosophers could not conceive of a connection between biology and thought, and simply assumed that "man" is "inherently endowed" with a "rational faculty" that is immutable, pre-existent, and eternal. Today we know that thought and the hardware that makes it possible are just as much in flux as everything else, and have known this for some time (since the days of Hegel, at the least, and certainly by the time of the aftermath to Darwin's arrival), so this entire debacle is no longer an issue."

>How is a priori knowledge possible
through experience; one experience if touching a hot stove is enough for stupid people to not touch the stove again, but most people are intelligent enough to not touch a hot stove in the first place. None of this is as complicated as fake intellectuals and theologian types wanted to make out.

Like,
> it comes from the metaphysical conditions that are necessary for the existence of a mind.
you could phrase it that way to make it sound overly complicated. It's true that a priori can be wrong sometimes, the baseline dispositions of things which are in error; like when we don't realize at first that most predators dress to seem very innocent and act harmless, but it's a matter of learning by observation of the environment; which includes understanding the simplistic tricks people use to leverage the baseline disposition.

>A priori knowledge is knowledge that is neccesary and universal, it is possible that someone doesn't feel pain touching the stove so it is not a priori knowledge
Uhmm.. no. That is not what priori or posteriori means at all,

law:
a priori means "at a glace, at first sight," i.e. knowing a tree is a tree by looking at it, posterior is knowing 'afterwards' by ... only learning later that it was a tree.

Actually technically, my stove example of only knowing it was hot 'after' burning your hand would be posterior, whereas realizing it was hot 'before' touching would be prior. But things like knowing by smell that food is bad is certainly priori.

but as i said a prior 'can' still be in error; you may glance from thecorner of your eye and a prior perceive a tree in the distance, but only after great study in posteriori 'may' you learn that it was a piece of broccoli being held next to your head.

We are not talking about law, we are talking about philosophy. What in philosophy we mean by a priori is that we know for example that "all grass is green" is true without the need for looking at all the existing grass, therefore is necessary and universal. It is an a priori truth that it cannot exist a squared circle, another a priori truth would be "all single people are not married" it is impossible that a single person would be married. By your definition nothing is a priori knowledge because we need always to learn the concepts and the meanings of words afterwards
