It could be that the occultism that developed from the oral traditions of Enoch offends the political history of their churches.

>christians
it's not just christians, rabbis rejected it from jewish canon around the same time christians did and were even more stringent about it, and together they destroyed every single copy that existed in Europe until it was rediscovered in Ethiopia in like eighteenth century

It's quoted at least three times in the Bible. 2nd temple Judaism, which was familiar to all NT authors were well acquainted with Enoch. 1st Enoch, Book of the Watchers, etc. is basically a delineation of Genesis 6 and pre-flood history. It's funny how the gods/sons of god/watchers had children (Nephilim) and were all awful, but feared by humans is a theme through all ancient cultures, yet we dismiss it as fairy tales that just happened to be nearly identical across the globe.

Origen and Tertullian defended the canonicity of Enoch, and the Dead Sea Scrolls discoveries vindicates them. Why haven't there been efforts to canonize Enoch in light of these facts?

Enoch went to britain and wales where he is known as Idris.
Look up Idrtis's seat

Jews and Catholics are closed-minded bigots
Christians don't have any problem with Enoch

You are wrong. Most Christians, including myself, that know of it and read it like it because it is the most blatant prophecy about Jesus from the ancient times

It is to the Ethiopian church, so what does that mean for papacy?

The book of Enoch is a mess of editing amalgamating five different sources. It isn't a problem by itself but some of those parts are quite...heterodox. Parts of Enoch might have become canon had it been properly separated, but antiquity saw it as an all or nothing decision for the book as it existed then.

they dont 'fear' it, they just think its not canon, ie a fanfic

Because it's judean fiction, not scripture.

Based Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church does not fear it at all. The Catholic Church should include it in the canon.
