To answer your question: idk, idc.

>he can't make it a tragedy because tragedies are about holding up the catharsis of the protagonists failures to point to something true and beautiful
I swear, none of the people who bitch about GRRM have read any of his books. I'm not even really a huge fan but if you can read ASOIAF and walk away thinking "wow, none of those character arcs were tragedies that explored the character's flaws" then you're an illiterate retard. Hell, it happens so many fucking times over and over I'd call it one of the defining features of the work.

Yeah. Bran becoming king. Dany going tyrant. These all plot points make a lot of sense.

Martin could have subverted Tolkien by having magical forces re-assert themselves and bring an end to the Age of Men. There were hints of this with magic returning with the birth of dragons and even when people were shocked that the fire god was actually real. Have Westeros become a giant battleground between the white walkers and azor ahai fire cultists and have dragons and not-Chinese sorcerers take over Essos. As it stands Martin ironically copied Tolkien's disenchantment subtext (Elves and Maia pass forever into the West leaving men the sole rulers of Middle-Earth, White Walkers and Targaryen resurgence both defeated by a human order implied to be moving out of feudalism towards liberal democracy).

Not sure if anyone would happy with those though because it would be a subversion of Tolkien in the opposite direction.

Jon turns out to be the Prince Who Was Promised, Stannis bends the knee and they btfo White Walkers. They march down south, where Dany and Aegon have besieged King's Landing. Dany and Jon hash out a deal like the show where Dany gets the South and Jon gets the North. They team up and btfo Cersei. Jaime kills Cersei, becomes leader of the Kingsguard, Tyrion becomes Lord of Casterly Rock and Minister of Coin.

>> No.20945521

John Snow uses a purple energy crystal to lure all the white walkers into Hogwarts after Ramadan so all the wizards in England are there breaking fast and celebrating, the white walkers use their numbers to overwhelm Hogwarts defenses but a miscast magic spell causes them to become confused and start raping all the wizards and students (male and female). All the main characters from GoT ally to take down the White walkers once and for all and ride to Hogwarts and trap them in the castle and attack them while they are raping the wizards. John Snow rides in on a white horse and the day is saved, but then Ganondorf shatters an ancient seal that was used to contain a deadly fantasy AIDS plague a million years ago and it spreads across the hogwarts grounds liquefying every fantasy book faggot character. None of the characters with related backstories are near eachother when this happens so none of their "arcs" are resolved and everyone just dies of AIDS.

Too big a question.
>Dragon sacrifice by 'drone' Euron fleet anchored in the Blackwater (filled with dragon fire); resulting cauldron in the bay boils and creates a vortex summoning the Kraken.
>Little Finger's bravosi heritage is Black Goat of Qohor worship, which the Bravos banks represent a rival Old Valerian faction to the Targs; this 5th column's other figure is Maester Marwin -- they are technocratic/'Satantic' placeholders for modernization and industrialization.
>Arya has to put down Lady Stoneheart -(she murders Jaime Lannister on his way back down to entreat Cersei to give up an unwinnable war)
>Littlefinger holds his forces in Harrenhall - in striking distance of the Trident - to threaten both Northern & Southern armies (mutual destruction favored, then Faegon & Dorne enter late to finish it)
>Siege of King's Landing Stalingrad, since the naval route is kept open by Kraken summoning -- total sea dominance, and Dragonstone has to be left with a token holding force
>Just prior, a CRAB BATTLE around the Crab Islands launched by Admiral Davos Seaworth intercepting Euron, with Targ Queen as bait -- sets up the Blackwater Kraken reversal
>Theon has to martyr himself going berserk
>Stannis electing to move on Casterly Rock rather than joining the North going south less effective than imagined, and frustrated by Iron Islanders
>Randyl/Dickon Tarly gets murdered, as in the show by dragon fire execution -- the the horror of late arrived Tyrion, and a Varys that immediately writes her off in favor of Faegon which leads to....
>Sam actually becoming a Killer, and disavowing Simp Snow; Sam returns to Horn Hill and reorganizes The Reach to defend against rampaging Dothraki on the open field (alliance with Dorne) -- he is irreconcilably enraged at Dickon's murder, and John's inaction
>Tyrion's taste for revenge dies with news of Jaime's passing, and pleads with Cersei to surrender while negotiated terms are still leveragable; ultimately ...
>Cersei understands the propaganda war, and after the Blackwater Cauldron, overeager Northern Coalition troops get dragonfired, again -- the Realm only see Danerys mass murdering by Dragon an entire city -- meanwhile, Cersei is more than halfway to Casterly Rock with the entire Kings Landing garrison, which will overmatch Stannis' stalled siege, and threaten the Vale ...
>Mauled by Lady Stoneheart on route -- Arya kills Stoneheart and returns her body to the North bringing news of the troop movement
>Stannis hold to buy time, ultimately succumbing for lack of reinforcement/maneuver options in the weather
>Berlin 1945 final redoubt bunkermode at Casterly Rock facilitated by 3rd wheel of Reach + Dorne/Bravos Bank Cartel & Black Goat Fucker war bonds -- Tyrion must become the Valonqar (against Danaerys, too; confirm the time travel fetus theory & chimeric twin conception between his father & Aerys)

>> No.20946765

>>20946748
>Godswood has to be a counterpoint to Euron's apocalypticism & Kraken summoning/White Walkers
>Jon's association with Dany untenable; king in the FAR north postwar
>Arya jealousy against Sansa -- elder born favored to unite North & South via Gendry; it's what's best for the realm, she concedes, but hates it and considers offing Sansa
>Alternative proposed with the Reach & Sam, but latter's too romantic about the wildling girl and no one questions it after his war heroics

As for the White Walkers, no idea. Maybe they're just after the Kraken/Euron's ends primarily (say, have the ocean freezing over enough to facilitate land blockade of Casterly Rock)

Definitely would need to kill off Arya ASAP. I truly hate how in a world supposedly where anyone can be offed unceremoniously, it has always seemed fairly obvious that “oh no my badass female subverting warrior she will always be safe and win isn’t she cool haha :)” was going to be a dumb, predicable exception.

I would have them wipe out most of Westeros. Jon Snow leads a small army to Essos with White Harbor ships, including Davos and Rickon.
Jon, Dany and Tyrion ride her three dragons and leads their combined army on a fight atop the frozen narrow sea and defeat the White Walkers and humanity begins it's slow path to recovery.
There's plenty before the end to make us realize this is a cycle and why society on Planetos is so stagnated technologically. In another thousand years, when all this has fallen to myth, the walkers will come again.
