This is what happens when a language abandons 99% of its grammatical gender but still retains that 1% holdover.
Nobody in Germany, France, or Italy is discussing why a table is feminine and a chair is masculine. It just is what it is. That's how the grammar works. Don't overthink it fivehead.
Only english speakers are having these autistic discussions.

it is different when you see it in action to be honest.

because the personage is not unknown. My natural reading of 'they' is to assume it refers to the doctor who comic strips in this article, for example.

There were headlines recently regarding Ezra Miller allegedly assaulting a family. Due to "respect muh pronouns" they made it seem as though they assaulted themselves. Note the previous sentence makes no sense, even with context clues, if you apply Ezra's they/them pronouns--did the headlines make it seem like the family assaulted themselves or Ezra assaulted "themselves?"

Also, pic related. Political correctness is more important than finding a missing person in clown world.

>> No.20696543

>>20696294
Humans do not have a gender. They have a biological sex. A person is either a male or female, immutably. There are a small amount of abnormalities, people with chromosomal disorders for example, and I don't particularly care how they are dealt with. The existence of abnormality does not negate normality, but establishes it.

Gender only applies to words. They can be masculine, feminine, or neuter. People do not have genders ergo they cannot have an unknown gender. If someone's SEX is unknown, that person can be referred to as "they" until their sex is ascertained, at which point they will be called the pronoun that corresponds to their sex. This isn't hard.

In casual speech you can refer to a person using "they" if you do not know whether to refer to them using "he" or "she." This is primarily in situations where you're talking about a non-specific person or someone you don't know, haven't seen, etc. This is not the person's actual correct pronoun (that would be "he" or "she") but is simply a convenient way of speaking that feels natural in English when used in this situation. A person cannot have the actual pronoun "they." Gender ideology is a load of horseshit and should be suppressed.
