This is more reflective overall of the just....degradation of the internet/active users and you have to consider stuff like how toxic pol has made this place or how many people (probably MASSIVE amounts of oldfags) were lost to the captcha. It's difficult. But I think this is a trend occurring across the internet, not just 4chan.

We can make /lit/ great again if we make a concerted effort as a board. Part of what made old /lit/ better was the gatekeeping 4chan boards did more generally to keep newfags in line.
Sage and report off-topic threads and give the OP and anyone who bumps it shit. All philosophy, religion, and politics threads that do not cite specific texts are off-topic.
Tell on-topic but low-effort posters to lurk more or fuck off.
