Don't need to be autistic to remember a number. Current reads; The Sheltering Sky page 103 - chapter 17, Finding a Form page 313 - Part 5 - The Music of Prose, The Opposing Shore page 51 - chapter 4 - The Ruins of Sagra. It is not difficult, before you put the book down just read the page number.

I once bought a second hand copy of Candide and it had an escort’s card with her picture on, looked like it was at least 30 years old.

Bought a book published in Germany during WWII. It has a note in it that's been embossed in pen, you can't see the ink it was behind another page or something. Not sure what it says or how to go about reading it.
