It is different. In all of those cases, the natives (except aborigines, I don't know that history) never presented a unified front, in addition to lagging in miliary technology. The Iroquois and Algonquin were allied with the English and French respectively because they wanted to settle scores with hated ancestral rivals, and the newcomers gave them the means to do that. Same with the Aztecs, where their abused vassal tribes jumped at the opportunity to overthrow the oppressive central regime with the Spanish. You can see parallels in Eastern Europe or Germanic/Gallic tribes doing the same thing cozying up to the Ottomans or the Rome. In Africa, local tribes sold their enemies into slavery. Also, conceptions of land as inheritable property for some of these places was a foreign concept.

None of those conditions are true of contemporary Europe, who demonstrably maintained the advantage in military capability and force projection, domestic cohesion, and stability with neighboring states who all had the same advantages. What is happening is more akin to decadent Rome allowing "barbarians" into the nation, except the cultural disparity is even more dramatic today. This is exactly like if the colonial powers brought the Aztecs, the Iroquois, the Ashanti back to Europe and just let them take over their countries.

On the contrary, I think that allowing this is the best and most mercyful thing western gobmints have done for the people in the last century(wich is sad but what can you do). At least they don't even try to pretend that they are put in place to raise our living standards. They are giving misserable people a safe and presumably painless way to end it, wich is also good for them because it saves them the trouble of cleaning up after people who jump in front of subways, it takes some pressure off from mental health institutions, it saves a lot of money from people with major disabilities and untreatable illnesses and it's probably the greatest excuse for not addressing any issue that could make people considering suicide.
