Could you substantiate what you've just said? I thought that Jung was one of Zizek's philosophical "enemies" (as he calls them).

I had a Zizek phase around 2007-2012, I read dozens of articles and watched hundreds of hours of his lectures, read like three books. I somehow forgot a lot about what I've learned, but I'm fond of him still, I think he is really one of the brightest guys I've ever read, he surprised me and blew my mind several times. I was never a marxist though, he would probably mock my moderate center-left views, but I'd let him. I'm lacanian though.

I think his major point about ideology is that what you say about your ideology is not really your ideology, to put it in a vulgar way. Most people think a leftist with a red flag must be a leftist for sure, but that's not always the case and he just goes over several examples on how there are things ingrained in certain attitudes and worldviews and relationships that reveal our true ideology, which is quite often contradictory to how we think we think and how its origin and endgoal can be messed up.
